The Free Economic Zone in Lithuania’s port-city Klaipėda registered its best year so far in 2018, according to the press release.
Total revenue of the 34 investors established in the zone was €1.239 billion, a 20% increase over 2017. The last year also broke records in exports, purchases in Lithuania, as well as taxes paid.
According to Klaipėda Free Economic Zone Management Company, the investor community at FEZ carried out acquisitions in Lithuania worth €321.1m, a 27.9% increase over 2017.
The taxes paid by FEZ companies have also reached a record €91.8m, three times more than the number recorded in 2017.
“We are looking to work towards improving manufacturer laboratories and R&D centers,” Eimantas Kiudulas, the CEO of the Klaipėda FEZ, is quoted in the press release.
The successes of last year show “the competitive strength of the FEZ companies in the modern global markets, as well as the undeniable advantage of the proximity to the Klaipėda seaport for successful investments,” according to Kiudulas.
