Startups in Lithuania are aiming to focus on social business goals during this year’s hackathon at ChangeMakers’On event in Kaunas, according to the press release.
“The concept of social business in society is usually obscure. For many, it is related to the problem of refugees or poverty reduction,” says Simona Šimulytė, founder of the international development program for social innovation at ChangeMakers'On.
“The goal of ChangeMakers'On hackathon is to combine empathy with technology. And to give social innovations a reliable business model that is financially stable and has an impact on the environment,” says Šimulytė.
The number of social innovators is also increasing every year, according to the press release.
A participation is open for everyone, regardless of age, gender or geographical location. The most important thing is to have an exclusive idea that creates impact and motivation.
This year, the ChangeMakersOn program has officially joined the cultural project Kaunas 2022. Both organizations strive for effective and sustainable change in the local and global environment of societies, according to the press release.
