Over quarter of voters have already voted in Lithuania`s presidential election

Over a quarter of voters have on Sunday voted in the presidential election and two referenda on Sunday, the latest figures from the country`s election watchdog, the Central Electoral Commission, reveal.

They show that 26.37 percent of voters had voted by 14:00, and adding those who voted early, all in all, 37.12 have already voted.

There are 2,472,405 people on the electoral roll in Lithuania.

Five years ago, 26.96 percent also expressed their will in the first round of voting in the presidential election by 2 p.m., and another 6.02 percent had voted early. In 2014, voter turnout stood at 52 percent in the first round of voting.
