Lithuania's allocations for developing countries totaled almost €50 million last year, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Friday, citing figures from the Organization for Economic Co-Operation and Development.

The lion's share of the sum, €39.87 million, went toward multinational support and €10.06 million, for bilateral support.

The total sum allocated by international donors shrank 2.7 percent last year, according to the ministry, even though the EU and its member states gave more, €74.4 billion, which accounted for almost 57 percent of the total.

The EU remains the largest global donor to the developing world, giving away 0.47 percent of the block's total revenue.
